Let me tell you how these sessions usually go.
You wake up and immediately question your life choices.
It’s early. It’s dark. You’re like… why did I agree to this?
Totally fair.
But then you get to the beach in St. Augustine, and everything kind of resets.
It’s quiet. No one’s really out yet. The sky is starting to change, but the sun hasn’t fully come up. And for a second, it just feels calm.
That’s where we start.
We get there early and give ourselves a minute while the sun does its thing.
I’ll have a pop-up tent ready so you can change comfortably right on the beach. No stress, no rushing. We take our time easing into it instead of jumping straight in.
While we’re waiting for that perfect light, I’ll start guiding you through some simple poses. Nothing complicated, nothing you have to “get right.”
Most people are just getting used to being in front of the camera at this point, and that’s completely normal.
I’ll walk you through everything, where to stand, how to move, and what to do with your hands so you’re not left guessing.
We keep it easy, keep it moving, and before you know it, you’re not thinking about it so much anymore.
Once the sun is exactly where we want it…that’s when everything really comes together.
There’s always a turning point.
Usually, it’s when the water hits your feet or when the wind decides to take over your hair fully.
Something breaks the tension.
You laugh. You move without overthinking it. You stop checking in every second.
And suddenly, it doesn’t feel like you’re “doing a photoshoot” anymore.
St. Augustine is one of my favorite spots for this for a reason.
There’s space.
We’re not squeezed into a tiny area or working around a bunch of distractions.
The beach is wide, the colors are beautiful, and the ocean does its thing!
It gives us room to move and keep things feeling natural.
This is for you if:
You don’t want to feel overly posed
You’re a little nervous, but still want to do something for yourself
You like the idea of being outside instead of in a studio
You want your photos to feel like a moment, not a setup
You don’t need to “get comfortable” before booking.
You don’t need to lose weight or practice poses.
My job is to guide you through it in a way that feels natural, not forced, not overcomplicated.
And yes…
You’ll end up with sand in all the places.
Your hair will be doing whatever the ocean breeze wants.
You might even run into the water (or swim!) a little more than planned.
But that’s kind of the best part, and we’ll create some magic together!
If this feels like your kind of experience, let’s plan your sunrise session in St. Augustine and create something that feels just as incredible as it looks!
