When Pregnancy Feels Magnetic
I’ve photographed a lot of women over the years, and pregnancy affects everyone differently. Some women feel uncomfortable in their bodies. Others feel unsure. And then some women come into my space feeling good, knowing their bodies were made for this season of life.
When a woman feels magnetic during pregnancy, it shows right away. The way she moves is different. The way she stands is different. She isn’t trying to look a certain way; she already feels at home in her body. My job in those sessions is to photograph what’s already there.
I photograph pregnancy boudoir for women who want something more intimate than traditional maternity photos.
A lot of the time, she’ll tell me she’s booking the session for herself. And she is. But she’ll also talk about her partner and the way he looks at her right now, as if this version of her is the most beautiful she’s ever been. She feels good in her body, and he sees that, too. Pregnancy hasn’t taken that away. If anything, it’s made that appreciation deeper.
That’s also why these sessions matter. Pregnancy doesn’t last long, even when it feels like it will. Your body will change again, and your focus will shift. These photos are about remembering and celebrating the growth, curves, and changes!
When I photograph pregnancy boudoir, I keep things simple. I guide you through posing, pay attention to the details, and we listen to your body. The goal is to create images that feel honest and true to where you are.
Pregnancy doesn’t take away attraction or desire. For some women, it actually brings more of it, a deeper appreciation for their body, a stronger sense of presence, and a kind of sensuality that feels natural. And if this is a season where you feel more drawn to your body and want to remember it, for yourself or with your partner, that’s reason enough!
These sessions are typically scheduled between 28–34 weeks, when movement is still comfortable, and your body has settled into this stage.
